A seminal Danish Mid-Century sideboard in Nordic oak, attributed to Henning Kjærnulf. This piece exemplifies his distinct “Danish Brutalist” vernacular — a synthesis of clean Scandinavian modernism with medieval and Baroque-inspired carving. The cabinet presents a silhouette of quiet strength, standing solidly upon a flat plinth. Its drama comes from the carved, geometric square patterns that play against the otherwise austere lines. The oak has undergone a period acid treatment that lightened the wood, revealing the grain in spectacular relief. The exceptional original condition shows only a gentle, honourable patina. Keys are included.
